In response to a media inquiry that on October 25, the Commemoration Day of Taiwan's Restoration, the commercial satellite "Jilin-1" released several high-resolution satellite images of Taiwan island, Zhang Xiaogang, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense (MND), said on Thursday that "It is normal for Chinese satellites to look at the magnificent mountains and rivers of China's Taiwan. There is nothing surprising about it."
From the satellite's perspective, every street on the island was clearly visible and some public opinion on the Taiwan island commented that the mainland's technological development is remarkable — if commercial satellites can capture such clear images, military satellites must be even more advanced.
The official WeChat account "Jilin-1" published an article titled "A satellite view of Taiwan Province of China," stating that "Taiwan is an inalienable part of China" and every inch of Taiwan Province is full of vitality from the space perspective of "Jilin-1."
