This regional strategy for the Syria crisis forms part of Sweden's overall development assistance and foreign policy, and will contribute to the building of functioning public institutions and the promotion of democratic and economic development. The strategy will also contribute to strengthening local resilience and conditions for returns and repatriation of the Syrian population, and for Syrian refugees and vulnerable groups in host communities in Jordan, Lebanon and Türkiye, which are major recipients of Syrian refugees.
