On the Russian-Chinese consultations on the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the military domain

The Russian-Chinese consultations on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the military domain took place on November 20 in Moscow. The Russian delegation was headed by Konstantin Vorontsov, Deputy Director of the Department for Nonproliferation and Arms Control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and the Chinese delegation - by Li Chijiang, Deputy Director-General, Department of Arms Control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
The comprehensive exchange of views on the respective topic was conducted. Particular attention was attached to the interaction both in a bilateral format, and at the specialized multilateral fora, primarily within the Group of Governmental Experts on Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems established under the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons.
The meeting confirmed the high level of mutual understanding on the above-mentioned issue. Common interest in further dialogue and cooperation in this sphere was noted.
