Defense Minister inspects the site of the 35th Division Recruit Training Battalion

Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back visited the 35th Infantry Division Recruit Training Battalion on Thursday, November 20, where he inspected training sites and encouraged the soldiers.

Minister Ahn Gyu-back visited the training site where recruits were completing a 20 km march, just one week before finishing their training program, and personally encouraged them. He stated, "A genuine combat instinct cannot be fully conveyed through words or speeches alone; developing it through realistic training is both the destiny and a crucial mission of every soldier."

Minister Ahn then reviewed the recruit training system and development plans, including training for drone and counter-drone operations, and discussed improvements to the recruit training system in the context of reforms to the military structure that has been in place for 40 years.

Minister Ahn urged, "Since recruit training is the first step to becoming a soldier, instruct recruits with sincerity and attentiveness, not just logic."

Furthermore, he instructed, "From now on, drones must be treated as a second personal weapon. Be committed to establishing a drone training system so that recruit training serves as the foundation for cultivating 500,000 drone warriors."

Minister Ahn concluded, "The trust of the people must be earned starting here at the Recruit Training Battalion. Make every effort to nurture elite soldiers with a strong sense of mission and the capability to prevail in combat."
