Meeting of Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar with the Foreign Minister of Hungary on the Sidelines of the 4th Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum

Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met with the Foreign Minister of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, on 20 November 2025, on the sidelines of 4th EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum being held from 20-21 November 2025 in Brussels.
While recalling the recent meeting with the Hungarian Foreign Minister on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly session in New York, the DPM/FM shared that Pakistan highly values its relations with Hungary, bilaterally as well as in the context of EU.
Both sides exchanged views on the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, including matters relating to political, economic and trade, culture, defence and people-to-people contacts. While reviewing the recent developments in bilateral relations, the two sides reaffirmed their resolve on early finalization of pending agreements to further deepen bilateral cooperation in between the two countries.
In this regard, the DPM/FM underscored Pakistan's strong desire to deepen trade and investment linkages with Hungary. The Hungarian FM thanked the DPM/FM for his personal involvement and support in supporting Hungarian investments in Pakistan.
Issues pertaining to regional and international peace and security also came under discussion during the meeting.
Both sides welcomed the upcoming 16th Pakistan-EU Joint Commission in Islamabad, and agreed to maintain close dialogue to promote mutual understanding and strengthen cooperation in shared areas of interest bilaterally and at multilateral fora.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides also signed the renewal of the "MOU between Pakistan and Hungary on Cooperation within the Framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum Program 2026-2028". Hungary will offer 400 Scholarships annually to Pakistani students who aspire to pursue higher education in Hungary.
