| May 9, 2003 Release Number: 03-05-33 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE THREE SOLDIERS KILLED, ONE INJURED IN UH-60 CRASH CAMP VICTORY, IRAQ -- Three 4th Infantry Division soldiers died and one was injured May 9 when a UH-60 helicopter crashed into the Tigris River the vicinity of Samarrah, Iraq. The crash occurred at approximately 8 p.m (12 p.m. EST), and was not a result of hostile action. The wounded soldier was transported to a field hospital for treatment of his injuries. The soldiers' names are being withheld pending next-of-kin notification. The incident is under investigation. |
