Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Pakpour says the elite force is ready to share its anti-terror experience with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) states with no limitations.
He delivered the remarks in a video message on Thursday during the final stage of Sahand‑2025, a major counter‑terrorism drill hosted by the IRGC Ground Force and involving military units from SCO states.
"The IRGC has gained valuable experience in direct confrontation with Takfiri and separatist terrorism in recent years and is ready to share the experience without any limitations with the members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization," he said.
The commander emphasized the need to take joint actions, hold specialized exercises, and share intelligence and experience among the SCO member states to combat terrorist threats that know no boundaries.
He noted that Sahand-2025 aims to combat terror threats and promote collective capabilities in the battle against dangers threatening regional and global security.
"The extensive and high-level presence of military and security commanders from both member and non-member countries of this organization (SCO) in this exercise is a strong indication of interaction, synergy, and a joint will to counter terrorism and enhance lasting security in the region," the IRGC chief emphasized.
He expressed hope that the exercise would promote peace and security among the SCO countries.
After the Israeli-American 12-day war in mid-June, Iran has focused all its efforts on strengthening regional and international cooperation despite pressures and threats, he noted.
Pakpour said Iran enjoys an active and responsible position in the SCO, which is based on constructive participation in enhancing cooperation.
The final stage of the five-day Sahand 2025 counterterrorism exercise began in Iran's East Azarbaijan Province with units from SCO member states participating.
At this stage, operational teams from the IRGC Ground Force, the Belarusian Army, and the Uzbek Army carried out exercises simulating responses to terrorist threats.
They carried out drills on hostage rescue, heliborne operations, electronic warfare, demolition, and the destruction of terrorist groups along the border areas.
IRGC Air Force helicopters also provided combat support and carried out heliborne missions.
