London, IRNA -- The Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London sent official notes to the Secretary-General of the IMO, resolutely rejecting the baseless accusations made by the representatives of the Israeli regime and Yemen at the 34th session of the organization.
In a note addressed to IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez regarding the claims made by the representative of the Israeli regime, Iran expressed concern over the Israeli continued abuse of the International Maritime Organization as a specialized agency of the United Nations to advance its hostile and destructive goals, and emphasized that such behavior undermines the impartial, technical, and professional nature of IMO.
The Iranian mission has noted that these baseless claims are part of a broader pattern in which the Israeli regime seeks to erode international law, weaken multilateral mechanisms, and disrupt the effective functioning of global governance structures.
In this note, a copy of which was provided to IRNA, Iran described the accusations as baseless, hostile, and provocative, and considered them a calculated attempt to divert the attention of IMO members from the Zionist regime's own record of widespread and continuous violations of international law, including in the maritime domain.
