Tehran, IRNA -- The deputy commander of the Army Air Defense Force says that the force has maintained full readiness for decades to defend the country in the face of hybrid threats.
Brigadier General Alireza Elhami made the remarks at the 24th round of the "Theories of Sacred Defense" course commemorating Martyr Lieutenant General Ali Sayyad Shirazi at Shahid Sattari Air University on Sunday.
He stressed the importance of knowing exactly what equipment and capabilities are required "for war and for defending a land that the whole world has its eyes on," adding that Iran must be prepared for joint operations to confront combined enemy tactics.
"In today's confrontation with the enemy's hybrid operations, we also need a joint operation to go to war with the enemy; otherwise, we cannot confront enemies," he said.
Elhami said Iran's defensive doctrine is grounded in "divine verses, the lofty Ashura culture, and the red line of Sayyed al-Shohada."
He added that Iran's geographic position, described in many strategic theories as the "heart of the earth," underscores the country's responsibility to defend its heritage.
Addressing what he called the enemy's psychological warfare, he said opponents aim to weaken "the Mahdaviat thinking," the unity of the armed forces, commitment to the leadership, and spiritual values.
"We must stand firm against this action of our enemies," he said.
