Navy commander says Iran ready to provide services to friendly and neighboring countries

Tehran, IRNA -- Commander of the Iranian Army's Naval Force, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani said within the framework of Iran's peace and friendship policy, naval forces are ready to provide services to the vessels of friendly and neighboring countries.
Addressing the unveiling ceremony of the Kordestan floating base, Irani said Sahand destroyer, as a multi-purpose combat vessel with up-to-date equipment in various fields, is ready to be present in distant waters and the depths of the oceans.
He added that the destroyer's mission is to escort ships and participate in combined and joint exercises within the framework of defense and naval diplomacy.
Elaborating on the features of the floating base, he said it can supply all kinds of operational needs in the fields of support, medical, communications, helicopter operations, underwater operations, diving, rapid relief, and the delivery of food, fuel, and medicine.
