Shiraz, IRNA -- Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran's Parliament Ebrahim Azizi has reaffirmed the country's determination to pursue its nuclear advancements strongly.
Speaking at a gathering in Abadeh City, the southern Province of Fars, during the Basij Week on Saturday night, Azizi criticized the recent anti-Iran resolution passed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), asserting that Iran would respond appropriately to such provocations.
Azizi emphasized that Iran today is not the same as it was before the 12-day war imposed by the Israeli regime, highlighting a shift in the nation's defensive posture. He warned adversaries, particularly the US and European nations, against underestimating Iran's resolve.
The representative from Shiraz and Zarghan cities also lauded the role of the Basij volunteer forces in altering the dynamics of warfare in favor of Iran during past conflicts.
He noted that the presence of Basij, along with other security forces, has thwarted numerous enemy plots, particularly during the June conflict, which saw a decisive Iranian response that forced US and Israeli proxies to retreat.
Azizi concluded by asserting that attempts to weaken Iran through economic sanctions would ultimately fail, reiterating that the nation remains steadfast in its defense and sovereignty.
