India's MIG-21 crashes near West Bengal

An Indian MiG-21 aircraft crashed at Shibkhola near Kurseong in West Bengal's Darjeeling district Thursday afternoon.
It was not immediately known if the pilot was safe or not, PTI reported here quoting state IGP (law and order) Raj Kanojia.
The aircraft took off from Bagdogra at about 1:00 pm (local time).
A search operation has been launched in the area.
