China, Serbia vow to enhance military cooperation

BEIJING, Nov. 6 -- General Zhang Youxia, vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission (CMC), met with visiting Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic in Beijing on the morning of November 6, 2025.

General Zhang Youxia said that under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, the two countries have embarked on a new journey of building a China-Serbia community with a shared future in the new era. Both sides firmly support each other's core interests and major concerns, jointly uphold international fairness and justice, and continuously write new chapters in the development of China-Serbia relations.

He continued that in recent years, the mil-to-mil relations have maintained a high-level development and achieved a series of practical results. China is willing to work with Serbia to enhance strategic communication, deepen strategic coordination, enrich cooperation content, and improve the quality and efficiency of cooperation, so as to continuously create a new situation of military cooperation that is more dynamic, broader in scope and higher in quality.

Bratislav Gasic spoke highly of China's development achievements and expressed sincere gratitude for China's long-standing support and assistance to Serbia. He stated that Serbia firmly adheres to the one-China principle, and feels deeply honored to have such a power partner as China.

He added that Serbia is willing to work with China to carry forward the ironclad friendship, strengthen strategic communication between the two militaries, consolidate the achievements of bilateral cooperation, and elevate the relations between the two countries and two militaries to a higher level.
