Chinese FM spokesperson responds to question over China-US framework trade deal, soybean purchases

When asked whether more details could be provided regarding the framework of trade deal reached by China and the US ahead of the potential leaders' meeting, particularly concerning China's purchase of US soybeans, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Monday that China had already released information on the China-US economic and trade consultations.
Guo noted that during the consultations, both sides, guided by the important consensus reached between the two heads of state, held candid, in-depth, and constructive exchanges on key economic and trade issues of mutual concern, and reached a basic consensus on arrangements to address each side's concerns. The two sides agreed to work out specific details and follow the domestic approval processes of each side, Guo said, adding that inquiries on specific issues should be directed to the competent Chinese authorities.
