On 3 December, on the margins of the meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Brussels, Kęstutis Budrys presented the situation regarding Belarusian hybrid attacks against Lithuania to the United States Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and United States Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker. The Minister also raised the question of the response to the actions of the Lukashenka regime at the session of the North Atlantic Council.

"We are a NATO frontline state facing today's reality of pressure exerted by an authoritarian regime that aims to have sanctions lifted and to legitimize itself in the international community," Budrys said.

According to the head of Lithuania's diplomacy, the exertion of such pressure on the NATO country must receive a strong, united response.

Lithuania called on the NATO Secretary General to show support and activate the Alliance's group for responding to hybrid attacks.

The meeting also discussed the implementation of the commitments made at the NATO summit in The Hague, the strengthening of preparedness, and the issues of support for Ukraine.

On the margins of the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and José Manuel Albares Bueno, Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, met to discuss NATO's deterrence, its contribution to the security of the Baltic region, and the Baltic Air Policing mission, which was taken over by the Spanish Royal Air Force.
