The head of the Iranian Space Research Center (ISRC) says Iran has successfully completed its space services value chain from design and construction to operation and data-based service provision by relying on domestic capabilities.
Speaking during a visit by a delegation to the Presidential Center for Cooperation in Transformation and Progress on Thursday, Vahid Yazdanian said that the institute's achievements have laid the foundation for advancing data-driven governance and promoting indigenous space technologies.
He said the institute now provides operational services in key areas such as smart agriculture, monitoring strategic crops, combating land grabbing, flood management, and optimizing resource allocation — results that have contributed to resource savings and more accurate national decision-making.
Yazdanian also announced plans to expand cooperation with universities and the private sector, noting that by "defining joint projects and using the research institute's infrastructure, the ground has been prepared for attracting elites and the participation of knowledge-based companies in the development."
Sajjad Ahadzadeh, head of the Presidential Center for Development and Progress Cooperation, underlined the government's focus on technology diplomacy and linking Iran's scientific capacities with international networks.
He said the center serves as a reference for dispatching technology advisors abroad and has strengthened Iran's presence in organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS, and the UN Climate Technology Network (CTCN).
The two institutions agreed to expand strategic cooperation in both national and international arenas, focusing on increasing domestic production, reducing dependence, and strengthening connections between science, technology, and industry.
Joint initiatives will also include using spatial data for smart governance, resource management, agriculture, and crisis response, alongside targeted support for innovators and technology firms to commercialize space achievements.
A joint working group will be established to design and implement the roadmap for these cooperative efforts.
During the visit, research institute officials presented updates on their latest scientific accomplishments, national projects, and laboratory developments.
