In 1965 the sole armored division had 4 tank regiments in one brigade and 3 motor infantry battalions in a second brigade. At that time an Armored Regiment included the Regimental HQ Troop x 3 tanks, and 3 squadrons x 14 tanks, each of HQ Troop x 2 tanks and 4 Troops x 3 tanks.
