Hyesan Airfield
Hyesan Airfield is near the northern border of North Korea. Extensive runway reconstruction had been observed in 1971. Through this reconstruction, Hyesan has grown from a 605- by 53-meter graded-earth strip serving light utility aircraft to a 1,610- by 63-meter graded-earth strip. The continued presence of construction vehicles on the premise at the time indicates that there may have been plans for paving the airfield.
