The Spanish Government welcomes the peace agreement signed on Thursday in Washington between the DRC and Rwanda. Spain remains committed to peace in the Great Lakes region and welcomes this significant step towards stability, regional cooperation and overcoming the conflict that has profoundly affected the populations of both countries and the region as a whole.
We highlight the commitment of the parties and the mediation of the United States, Qatar and Togo. Spain encourages the parties to continue to implement the commitments made in a firm and constructive manner.
