Dec 3 2025
RAMSTEIN, Germany -- On November 18, 2025, a new operational structure - called Lot 4 - was inaugurated at NATO's Deployable Air Command and Control Centre (DACCC) enhancing and strengthening NATO's Air Command and Control (Air C2) architect.
The 'Lot 4' structure is designed to elevate NATO's Air C2 capabilities to a new level of readiness, increasing resilience and multi-domain integration. A milestone in the modernization of Allied Air Command's (AIRCOM) operational capabilities, the new operation structure presents the Alliance with a facility designed and built to provide an advanced response to emerging air domain needs.Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry.
Speaking at the ceremony, Air Lieutenant General Silvano Frigerio, Commander of the Air Operational Command - 1st Air Region of the Italian Air Force, emphasized the strategic value of the project implemented by the Ministry of Defence, stating that the new structure represents "a symbol of how multinational expertise converges to strengthen deterrence and security across NATO."
Representing AIRCOM Deputy Commander, General of the Corps Aérienne Guillaume THOMAS, Air Division General Luca MAINERI, Commander of the DACCC, emphasized how Lot 4 consolidates NATO's mission by providing the DACCC with a structure designed for a connected, adaptable, and multi-domain force. This achievement was the expression of a collective international commitment.

The DACCC is one of NATO's most agile and versatile air command and control assets, thanks to its ability to rapidly deploy and integrate resources and capabilities in any theatre of operation. The heart of the new structure is its two operational pillars: the operations room and the Battle Lab.
The operations room is designed as the decision-making centre for future DACCC activities. Built to support high-intensity multinational air operations, it provides advanced planning, and command and control functions in a secure, scalable environment. Capable of supporting both exercises and operations, enhancing NATO's resilience by ensuring the Alliance's ability to maintain airspace control even under high pressure or under degradation of key infrastructure.
Completing the build is the Battle Lab, an ecosystem dedicated to innovation where concepts, technologies, and procedures are continuously tested and refined. Dedicated, cutting-edge IT systems, built for experimentation and training, enable the creation of a synthetic environment for simulations and the rapid integration of multi-domain operational concepts.
