Hamas calls for global action on International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People

Tehran, IRNA -- The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, has issued a public call urging Muslims and supporters of the Palestinian cause around the world to participate in events marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed annually on November 29.

In a statement carried by Palestine's Sama News on Saturday, Hamas emphasized the need to intensify efforts against Israeli occupation and the regime's criminal actions targeting Palestinians and their land.

The group said global solidarity was essential in supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in their pursuit of freedom and independence.

Hamas called on Muslims and freedom-seekers across the world to take the global event as an opportunity to raise their voices against Israel's violations of the ceasefire in Gaza, and the regime's "terrorist" actions against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Al-Quds.

Renewed public pressure could amplify demands to open border crossings and allow humanitarian aid into Gaza, and begin reconstruction efforts there, according to the statement.

The group also expressed appreciation for worldwide demonstrations and official positions supporting the Palestinian cause, crediting them with raising global awareness on nearly eight decades of Israel's fascist occupation and brutalities that are backed by the United States.

Hamas urged continued unity and backing for Palestinians "until the end of the occupation," asserting that the international community has a moral responsibility to support Palestinian rights, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.

The movement emphasize that Palestine, including Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque, will remain Palestinian land, and insisted that all forms of resistance, particularly armed resistance, are legitimate under international norms.
