Minister of National Defence, at SEDM Meeting in Sarajevo

On Thursday, November 27th, Minister of National Defence, Liviu-Ionuț Moșteanu, participated in the South-Eastern Defence Ministerial (SEDM) Meeting, in Sarajevo, in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Meeting's agenda included talks on the implementation of projects and activities related to the SEDM initiative, as well as an exchange of views on the recent developments in regional security.
Minister Moșteanu emphasized the need to continue providing the necessary support to Ukraine, as well as to the Republic of Moldova, and the interconnection of the security situation of the two countries. The official also highlighted the importance of direct investment in the security of the states in the Black Sea region by supporting their efforts throughout their European path. He also stressed Romania's commitment to strengthening its active participation in the development of SEDM projects and presented the essential role of the actions initiated by our country throughout 2023 and 2025, when it held Presidency of the Initiative.
Thus, the Minister of National Defence emphasized the effort made by Romania to raise the profile and relevance of the Initiative, increase the efficiency of the South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG), as well as to launch a new project in the field of resilience, all aimed at enhancing regional cooperation in the field of security and defence and adapting SEDM to emerging challenges.
"Romania recognizes the important role of the SEDM initiative and supports efforts to consolidate and improve the projects developed in order to promote stability and cooperation in South-Eastern Europe," the Romanian Minister of Defence concluded.
