The Chief of Defence Staff participated in the European Union Military Committee Meeting

On Thursday, November 20th, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Vlad Gheorghiță, participated in the European Union Military Committee Meeting, held in Brussels, in the chiefs of defence format.
The meeting agenda focused on the analysis of the implementation progress of the European Union's Preparedness Strategy, the status of the White Paper for European Defence - Readiness 2030, as well as the developments regarding the European Union's support for Ukraine. At the same time, the officials discussed issues related to the capability development and military training at European level, as well as the coordination between EU and NATO mechanisms.
General Vlad Gheorghiță also had meetings with his counterparts, on topics of common interest and emphasized the need to enhance European defence cooperation and maintain a sustained pace of efforts to adapt to the evolving security environment. General Vlad Gheorghiță also reaffirmed Romania's commitment to contributing to the processes of strengthening European defence and to the joint efforts to support Ukraine.
