Iran expresses concern about Afghanistan-Pakistan tensions

Tehran, IRAN -- Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and the foreign minister of Afghanistan's current ruling government, Amir Khan Muttaqi, have discussed bilateral cooperation and the recent tensions between Islamabad and Kabul.
During a phone call with Muttaqi on Sunday, Araghchi expressed concern about the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, two neighboring Muslim countries.
He announced Iran's readiness to offer assistance and consultation to help reduce tensions and promote peace between the two countries.
Araghchi also discussed with Afghanistan's foreign minister the importance of interaction and collaboration to secure Iran's water rights.
For his part, Muttaqi thanked Iran for its goodwill and provided an update on the current situation and the outcomes of recent talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
He reiterated Afghanistan's commitment to upholding the ceasefire and resolving issues through diplomacy and dialogue.
