Hamas says the latest UN figures, indicating a significant increase in illegal Israeli settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, confirm the extreme pain and suffering inflicted by the Tel Aviv regime on Palestinians.

In a statement released on Saturday, Hamas noted that the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported 264 settler attacks resulting in casualties or property damage last month, alongside approximately 1,500 such attacks this year alone. They described this as clear evidence that the occupying force is implementing a policy of systematic terror and torture against the Palestinian people.

The statement further emphasized that this policy aims to evict Palestinians from their homes and land, while imposing colonial and racist demographic changes through domination and intimidation.

"The deliberate and repeated targeting of agricultural lands during the olive harvest season is an attempt to pressure Palestinian farmers. This is taking place within the framework of the occupiers' plan to displace Palestinians, expand settlements, and tighten their grip over the West Bank," the Gaza-based resistance group stated.

Hamas called on the international community, the United Nations, and all relevant parties to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities, condemn these violations, pressure the occupying regime to stop settler terrorism and organized violations against Palestinians in the West Bank, and make efforts to prosecute Israeli leaders before international courts for their recurrent crimes against the Palestinian people, lands, and sanctities.

The Hamas statement came on the same day that a group of Israeli settlers stormed the Palestinian town of Deir Jarir in the occupied West Bank, and cut down about 20 olive trees, according to the WAFA news agency.

A gang of Israeli settlers also raided the Palestinian village of Abu Falah, near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, and set a resident's house ablaze.

The settlers succeeded in burning parts of the home and also fired shots with weapons at people in the area. No casualties were reported.

Israeli assaults in the occupied West Bank have intensified since October 2023, resulting in the deaths of over 1,066 Palestinians and leaving 10,300 others injured, as reported by Palestinian sources.

The official Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reports that Israeli forces and illegal settlers conducted 766 attacks targeting Palestinians, their homes, properties, and means of livelihood throughout the West Bank during October.

In July 2024, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled that Israel's longstanding occupation of historic Palestine violated international law.

The ICJ called for the removal of all existing settlements in the West Bank and East al-Quds. However, it amounted to nothing more than mere words.
