MONS, Belgium -- Senior military and civilian leaders gathered at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, for a Distinguished Visitors Day as part of exercise STEADFAST COBALT 2025 Phase Bravo.

The event highlighted NATO driving innovation and resilience across its Communications and Information Systems (CIS) enterprise.

"Distinguished Visitors Day has demonstrated our commitment to operational excellence and innovation. The technologies and systems showcased today reflect our ongoing effort to ensure secure and agile information environments that empower decision-making and mission success. We look forward to insightful exchanges and strengthening our partnerships between the operational community and CIS/Cyber," said Major General Rainer Beeck, Commander of NATO Communications and Information Systems Group (NCISG) and SHAPE DCOS Cyberspace.

Hosted by the SHAPE Cyberspace Community, the day showcased how Allied experts deliver secure and interoperable networks. It was a rare display of activities that normally take place behind closed doors but decisively enable commanders in the conduct of their mission. As a platform for technology, it provided insights into the systems and teamwork necessary to support real-world operations in the enablement of critical decision-making. The displays provided tangible evidence of the close collaboration of the SHAPE Cyberspace Community and Nations, underscoring the critical partnerships vital to NATO's digital sustainment and transformation.

Throughout the day, guests experienced live demonstrations and had the chance to get hands-on with exhibits. Interactive guided tours brought to life the Alliance's deployable systems and initiatives for the Vigilance and enhanced Vigilance Activities (VeVA) mission network. There was also the chance to learn about other digital transformation initiatives designed to strengthen NATO's Command and Control (C2) capabilities.

Visitors included senior leaders from the NATO Military Committee, SHAPE Headquarters, officials from across the NATO Command and Force Structure (NCS/NFS), along with National Military Representatives and international dignitaries. Together, they gained first-hand insight into how NATO's CIS teams are ensuring mission readiness in a quickly evolving digital battle space.
