Deputy Minister Henryka Mościcka-Dendys participated in the Western Balkans Summit on the Berlin Process, where she spoke on security and Poland's support for the Western Balkan countries when it comes to building resilience to challenges of Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI).

- The war in Ukraine is not a remote conflict; it is a test of unity and cohesion for the entire Europe. The security of Kyiv is interwoven with the security of Belgrade, Sarajevo, Berlin, and Warsaw - said Deputy Minister Mościcka-Dendys during the Summit, held in London on 22 October.

The deputy head of Polish diplomacy made note of the growing threat to European security posed by Russia, which has been organising destabilising actions at our eastern border over the last few years.

- The Kremlin's destructive influence can still be felt in the Western Balkans, with Russia using the ethnic divide, social discontent, and local weaknesses, besides actively spreading disinformation - said the deputy foreign minister while stressing Poland's readiness to support the Western Balkan states in their efforts to take on such challenges.

Poland has always been a strong advocate of the EU enlargement to the Western Balkans. We view this mechanism as the most efficient tool at the EU's disposal to extend the area of stability and prosperity in our continent. It is important to underline the ongoing presence of Polish soldiers and police officers in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo. For more than two decades, they have worked together with our allies to bring stability and security to the local population. Additionally, Poland is engaged in measures to build the resilience of the Western Balkan countries and counter FIMI, including, most notably, Russian disinformation.
