On October 13-19, 2025, the NATO Baltic Air Policing Detachment in the Baltic states conducted four alert scrambles to intercept aircraft of the Russian Federation violating the international flight regulations.

On October 13 NATO air policing fighter aircraft identified and escorted one IL-20 flying via international airspace from Kaliningrad and back. Its onboard transponder was switched off, the crew was not maintaining radio communication with the regional air traffic control centre and had no pre-filed flight plan.

On October 14 NATO fighter jets intercepted one IL-20 flying from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia through international airspace. Its onboard transponder was off, the crew was maintaining radio communication with the regional air traffic control centre but had no flight plan.

On October 14 NATO fighter aircraft were scrambled in response to one SU-30. The aircraft was flying via international airspace from Kaliningrad and back with its onboard transponder switched off, without the flight plan and without maintaining radio communication with the regional air traffic control centre.

On October 15 NATO fighter jets were scrambled to intercept one SU-30SM flying from Kaliningrad and back via international airspace. Its onboard transponder was switched off, the crew had no flight plan and were not maintaining radio communication.
