Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the EU on the alignment of certain countries concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Nicaragua

On 29 September 2025, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2025/19731.
The Council Decision extends the existing restrictive measures until 15 October 2026 and updates the statement of reasons in respect of two natural persons and one entity listed in the Annex to Decision (CFSP) 2019/1720.
Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova (Republic of), Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Ukraine align themselves with this statement.
They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.
The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
