Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna's comment on the agreement to implement the first phase of the Gaza peace plan.
"I welcome the agreement on the first phase of the peace plan. I highly value the diplomatic efforts of the United States, Qatar, Egypt and Turkey in achieving this.
For the first time in a long while, there is a real opportunity to bring an end to the violence, improve the daily lives of civilians, and build trustworthy political relations.
We hope that the hostages will be released swiftly and that the fighting will come to an end. Lasting peace and security for both Israelis and Palestinians can only be achieved through a two-state solution. Estonia supports international efforts to make this a reality."
