At least one individual has been killed when the Israeli military launched an attack south of Lebanon, in yet another violation of the 2024 ceasefire agreement between the Arab country and the Israeli regime.

Lebanon's official National News Agency (NNA), citing local authorities, reported that an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle between the villages of Toulin and Burj Qalaouiyeh in the Bint Jbeil district of Nabatieh province on Sunday evening.

The victim was identified as a resident of the Majdal Selm region.

The Israeli army later claimed in a statement that it had killed a member of the Hezbollah resistance movement in southern Lebanon.

Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee said in a post on X that the Israeli forces struck the Nabatieh area on Sunday, killing Mohammad Ali Yassin.

Adraee claimed that the victim was involved in weapons production and development.

The development came after a person was killed and two people were injured on Friday in Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon, in the village of Aitaroun, the NNA said.

An unnamed source in the Lebanese army intelligence was quoted as saying by the media that the person killed was a Hezbollah member identified as Hussein Khalil Mansour.

Hezbollah and Israel were engaged in exchanging fire since October 8, 2023, only one day after the Zionist entity launched a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip following a surprise operation led by Hamas.

The Lebanese resistance movement vowed to keep up its retaliatory attacks as long as the Israeli regime continued its Gaza war.

The Israeli regime escalated the conflict into a full-scale war by September 2024, killing more than 4,000 Lebanese and injuring around 17,000, most of them women and children.

Although a ceasefire was reached in November 2024, Israel has been carrying out near-daily strikes in southern Lebanon, falsely claiming to target Hezbollah activities, violating the agreement.

The Israeli military is also maintaining its occupation of five important locations in southern Lebanon, including Labbouneh, Mount Blat, Owayda Hill, Aaziyyeh, and Hammamis Hill, all of which are located near the border.

Despite almost daily Israeli airstrikes and ongoing breaches of Lebanese airspace and sovereignty, Hezbollah continues to be the sole credible military entity capable of challenging the occupation and thwarting additional Israeli intrusions.

As demands from Washington and Israel to disarm the Lebanese resistance group intensify, numerous individuals within the Arab nation contend that such attempts overlook the fundamental problem of Israel's ongoing infringements on Lebanese sovereignty.
