FFG 23 Lewis B. Puller
USS Lewis B. Puller was the 15th ship in the OLIVER HAZARD PERRY class and its homeport was San Diego in California. After being decommissioned the ship transfered to the Egyptian Navy on September 18, 1998 and was renamed TOSHKA.
The demi-globe alludes to General Puller's long military career and service in many parts of the world. The phoenix rising out of its own ashes is symbolic of excellence and rejuvenation and captures General Puller's fighting spirit, in tribute to his many battle encounters where he continually placed himself in the thick of enemy fire and rose to fight again.
