Division Artillery (DIVARTY), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)
"Guns of Glory"

In FY 2004, as part of the Army's transformation towards a modular force, the 101st DIVARTY was inactivated and its component elements deactivated and reactivated assigned to the Division's reorganized Brigade Combat Teams.

The mission of the Division Artillery of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) was to deploy within 36 hours worldwide as part of a joint, multinational or unilateral task force to destroy enemy forces or seize and retain terrain, to control land, people, and resources.

The Division Artillery ("Guns of Glory"), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky was composed of a brigade Headquarters and Headquarters Battery and three field artillery battalions. The Division Artillery Combat Team was composed of the 1st Battalion (Top Guns), 320th Field Artillery; 2nd Battalion (Balls of the Eagle), 320th Field Artillery; 3rd Battalion (Red Knights), 320th Field Artillery; 2nd Field Artillery Detachment (Target Acquisition); C Battery, 1-377th Field Artillery.
