In FY 2004, as part of the Army's transformation towards a modular force, the 101st DIVARTY was inactivated.

The Division Artillery (Guns of Glory), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky is composed of a brigade Headquarters company and three field artillery battalions. The Division Artillery Combat Team is composed of the 1st Battalion (Top Guns), 320th Field Artillery; 2nd Battalion (Balls of the Eagle), 320th Field Artillery; 3rd Battalion (Red Knights), 320th Field Artillery; 2d Field Artillery; C Battery, 1-377th Field Artillery.

Division Artillery of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) deploys within 36 hours worldwide as part of a joint, multinational or unilateral task force to destroy enemy forces or seize and retain terrain, to control land, people, and resources.
