1st Battalion - 81st Armor Regiment

The mission of the 1st Battalion, 81st Armor Regiment, is to conduct institutional training for initial entry and reclassification for all 19K Armor Crewmen for the Regular Army and Reserve components; conduct Advanced Individual Training for Abrams and Bradley mechanics (Military Occupational Specialty 63A/M)); conduct the technical training for the 63 A/M Basic Non Commissioned Officer Course (BNCOC); and to conduct United States Marine Corps Armor Crewman and Tank System Mechanic Courses (Military Occupational Specialty 1812 and 2146).

HHC, 1-81 Armor supports M1 Tank Crewman, Bradley/Abrams mechanic training AIT & BNCOC, Recovery training (GMD) and USMC training with logistical assets. Provides administrative support to cadre in order to maintain war fighting skills, individual soldier deployability and quality of life.

Alpha company trains and develops 63A(mutli-capable maintainer) soldiers to be able to operate, sustain and survive in combat. Alpha company also teaches principles and operations of the M1A2 (ASI K4) and M88A2 (ASI H8). Drill Sergeants provide for the health, welfare and discipline of every soldier. Drill Sergeants provide Common Task Training to complete the soldierization process in order to provide disciplined, MOS trained and combat ready soldiers to the Regular Army, National Guard and Reserves.

The mission of Bravo Company is to train and develop 63M (Bradley Multi-Capable Maintainer) Advanced Individual Training soldiers to be able to operate, sustain and survive in combat; refreshes and sustains common skills training; provides for the health, welfare and discipline of all assigned soldiers; completes the soldierization process to provide MOS-trained and combat-ready soldiers to the Regular Army and National Guard.

Delta Company provides a thirteen-week course covering the USMC 1812 M1A1 Armor Crewmen Course, and a nineteen-week course covering the USMC 2146 M1A1 Tank System Mechanic Course.

The mission of Echo Company is to conduct One Station Unit Training for Active Army, US Army Reserve and National Guard soldiers in order to graduate combat ready Armor Crewmen; and on order, execute mobilization expansion plan.
