Seventeen individuals have been sentenced to death in Yemen over spying for the US, UK, Saudi Arabia, and the Israeli regime.

In two separate cases, Yemen's Specialized Criminal Court in the capital Sana'a ordered on Saturday the execution of the spies by firing squad in a public place.

The convicts were found guilty of "colluding with" hostile foreign regimes, namely Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UK, and the US, and spying for their interests during the 2024-2025 period.

They were also charged with "incitement and aiding with the recruitment of a number of citizens, planting surveillance cameras, ... which led to the targeting of several military, security and civilian sites resulting in the death of dozens and widespread destruction of infrastructure" in Yemen.

They had provided the enemies with information about Yemeni officials, as well as missiles, their launch sites, and storage locations, according to the rulings.

Agents from Israel's Mossad spy agency had given the spies encrypted communication devices and location-tracking applications, and trained them to use hidden cameras.

Additionally, the Yemeni court sentenced a man and a woman to 10 years in prison each over similar charges, and acquitted another person.

Earlier this month, Yemen's Interior Ministry announced the dismantling of a spy network operated jointly by Mossad, the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and Saudi Arabia's General Intelligence Presidency.

It revealed in a statement that the spy network's joint operations room was located in Saudi Arabia, from where it orchestrated sabotage and espionage activities against Yemen.

The spies were trained on Saudi soil in intelligence gathering, report writing, and concealment methods by US, Israeli, and Saudi officers, it added.

Chairman of Yemen's Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat, said the espionage ring mainly sought to end the nation's support for Palestine and its just cause.

The Yemeni Armed Forces began a pro-Palestine campaign, attacking Israeli-linked ships as well as striking targets in the occupied territories in November 2023, a month after the usurping regime unleashed a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, Israel and the US have carried out rounds of deadly aerial assaults across Yemen in flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter.
