PLA Rocket Force 66 Base

The sixty-sixth base of the People's Liberation Army Rocket Army , located in Luoyang City , Henan Province , is the base of the People's Liberation Army Rocket Army.

In August 1966, based on the former Public Security Force Academy, the 305 Project Headquarters ( headquarters 124 troops ) was formed. On May 25, 1968, the Central Military Commission approved the change of the 305 Project Command to the 54th Base of the Second Artillery Corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Located in the Jinan Military Region of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In 2016, in the deepening of national defense and army reform, it was changed from the 54th base of the People's Liberation Army Rocket Army. On April 18, 2017, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee , State President , and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, received the chief officers of the newly adjusted 84 military units in the Bayi Building in Beijing , and issued instructions to each unit; members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee , Xu Qiliang, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, read out the Central Military Commission's order and decision issued by Chairman Xi Jinping to adjust the formation of military arms and units and the military-level units of the provincial military district system. In this adjustment and formation of military units, based on the 54th base of the People's Liberation Army Rocket Army, the sixty-sixth base of the People's Liberation Army Rocket Army was adjusted and formed.

Before deepening national defense and army reform in 2016, the 54th Base of the Second Artillery Corps of the People's Liberation Army under the jurisdiction of the 801st Brigade (equipped with Dongfeng-5A intercontinental ballistic missiles ) and the 804th Brigade (equipped with Dongfeng-5A intercontinental ballistic missiles) ), 813th Brigade (equipped with Dongfeng -31A intercontinental ballistic missile), 833rd Brigade (equipped with Dongfeng -41 type intercontinental ballistic missile ).

One brigade carried out the first independent launch mission of the whole brigade in the Northwest Gobi for the first time in 2010, which created the first intercontinental strategic missile unit long-term cross-regional camping training, random sampling of launch units, and the launch in the rain. The brigade is fully equipped with an independent launch capability for the entire brigade.
