Russian Forces Expand Zone of Control Near Krasnoarmeysk

Russian troops have expanded their zone of control in the vicinity of Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk), Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People's Republic, said.

"In the vicinity of Krasnoarmeysk, our units are also continuing to expand the control zone in the direction of Grishino, and there is also an increase in the control zone here," Pushilin said.

He stressed that Russian troops are also proceeding with a mop-up operation in Krasnoarmeysk, where the enemy is practically encircled.

"The enemy is, of course, attempting various ways to break out, but our troops are steadily carrying out their mission," Pushilin underscored.

The Russian forces have also improved positions in the city of Seversk in the DPR, Pushilin said, adding that the urban fighting in the city is ongoing. Regarding the situation in the settlement of Dimitrov in the DPR, Pushilin said that every escape route of the Ukrainian militants is under Russian fire control.

"The situation in Dimitrov is a bit more complicated, as there are still some, let's say, routes that the enemy is trying to use, but all such routes are also under the fire control of our units," Pushilin said.

In late October, Russia's Battlegroup Tsentr encircled Ukrainian forces in the area of Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov. The Russian army regularly thwarts attempts by the Ukrainian military to break the encirclement.

Pushilin also added that the security buffer zone is expanding in southern DPR, as Russian forces continue firmly liberating the Dnepropetrovsk region.

"In the south of the republic, which is already liberated, the security zone keeps expanding. The liberation of the Dnepropetrovsk region is going as part of it, and we see our troops are confidently holding the captured positions, mopping up [the enemy] and pushing forward," Pushilin said.

Practically in several directions, the positions of Russian troops are significantly improved across along the line of combat contact, he added.
