Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 01 November 2025 12:33

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk held a series of bilateral meetings with international partners at the G7 Energy Ministers' Meeting in Toronto. The main focus of the discussions was on new technologies and resources needed to successfully manage the heating season in Ukraine.

With Japan's State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Kenji Yamada, the Head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine coordinated further cooperation under JICA international assistance programmes. Svitlana Grynchuk thanked the Japanese side for its systematic support of Ukraine's energy sector - from supplying equipment to restore infrastructure to implementing projects aimed at enhancing energy resilience and developing renewable energy.

During her meeting with Ontario's Minister of Energy and Mines Stephen Lecce, the Minister discussed expanding cooperation in the energy sphere. Ontario, as Canada's leader in clean energy, is actively developing nuclear generation and small modular reactors - experience that is valuable for Ukraine. The parties highlighted the positive outcomes of cooperation with Bruce Power and Ontario Power Generation, which are already supplying energy equipment to Ukraine, and agreed to explore options for delivering additional generators and grid equipment.

Svitlana Grynchuk expressed gratitude to the partners for their significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine's energy resilience. Thanks to the support of allies, Ukraine is confidently preparing for the heating season and continues to hold the energy front.
