Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko announced that the Government, together with the President of Ukraine, has defined the main directions and components of a new winter support package for citizens.
"The package will include both existing programmes - such as fixed energy prices for households, housing subsidies, support for homeowners' associations to improve energy efficiency and assistance for purchasing generators, a moratorium on disconnections in frontline areas, and payments to internally displaced persons for firewood - as well as new support measures," noted Yulia Svyrydenko.
Current programmes:
- Fixed energy prices for households;
- Housing subsidies;
- Support for homeowners' associations to boost energy efficiency and help with generator purchases;
- Moratorium on disconnections in frontline areas;
- Payments to internally displaced persons for buying firewood.
New support programmes in preparation:
- A one-off payment for all Ukrainian citizens during the winter period - a programme familiar to Ukrainians from last winter;
- New cash assistance for those most affected by the war or in difficult life circumstances - particularly internally displaced persons, people who have lost their jobs, and low-income families;
- A programme of free travel across Ukraine by Ukrzaliznytsia - 3,000 kilometres for every citizen;
- A comprehensive health check-up for those aged 40+, available at medical facilities this winter.
The Government will provide full details on all components of the winter support package in the near future.
