Tymoshenko mulls teaming up with Our Ukraine in early election

KIEV, August 1 (RIA Novosti) - Yulia Tymoshenko is currently in talks with President Viktor Yushchenko over the possibility of joining forces with the pro-presidential party, a spokesman for the Ukrainian opposition leader's bloc said Tuesday.

The Tymoshenko Bloc and Our Ukraine would unite if early parliamentary elections were held, a spokesman for the bloc said.

"This is about forming a joint election list with Our Ukraine," Oleksandr Kovtunenko said.

Our Ukraine had previously been part of a Western-leaning coalition in the Supreme Rada - with the Tymoshenko Bloc and the Socialist Party - that collapsed giving way to the "anti-crisis" coalition led by pro-Russia Party of Regions, which nominated its head Viktor Yanukovych as prime minister.

President Yushchenko is now facing a dilemma between confirming his "orange" revolution rival Yanukovych as prime minister or dissolving parliament - a right he received after the assembly missed a 60-day deadline for forming a new government on Tuesday. He has until August 2 to decide how to respond to Yanukovych's nomination.
