Putin and Netanyahu met on Monday in Moscow to discuss the Middle East peace process and the fight against global terrorism.

According to Yetnews, Netanyahu told a news conference after the meeting that his goal was 'to prevent misunderstandings between IDF troops and Russian troops' by creating a coordination mechanism.

The Israeli Air Force has carried out a number of airstrikes on Syrian territory in retaliation to militant rocket fire and against Hezbollah weapons convoys, while Russia has allegedly deployed several fighter jets and personnel at an airbase at Syria's port city of Lattakia.
