No deaths in Siberian copter crash - Emergencies ministry

12:21 05/07/2011 MOSCOW, July 5 (RIA Novosti) - No deaths were reported in an Mi-8 helicopter crash in the Russian Eastern Siberian Irkutsk region on Tuesday, a spokesperson for the regional Emergencies Ministry said.

"Medics arrived at the scene of the accident at 11:31 a.m. Moscow time (07:31 GMT). Everyone is alive, one is unconscious," the spokesperson said.

Earlier the Ministry reported that two people had been killed. A source in the Russian Aviation Committee (Rosaviatsia) said 14 people were injured in the accident.

According to the latest information, only three people were injured in the accident with no casualties reported.

The helicopter, owned by UTAir airlines, was ferrying oil workers from the town of Ust-Kut to a drilling site.

According to local authorities, the passengers are employed by a subsidiary of the state-owned oil giant Rosneft.
