KHABAROVSK, December 10 (RIA Novosti) - Three Sukhoi Superjet medium-haul passenger jets will be built by end of this year at a plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in Russia's Far East, the office of the presidential envoy to the region said on Friday.

"The plant will build three Superjet 100 airliners this year and 14 in 2011. The first serial plane has already been fully assembled and completed 30 flights," a spokesman said.

The other two planes are about to be ready, the source added.

The Superjet 100 project is a family of medium-range passenger aircraft developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau in cooperation with major American and European aviation corporations, including Boeing, Snecma, Thales, Messier Dowty, Liebherr Aerospace, and Honeywell.

The aircraft is capable of carrying 75-95 passengers to the distance of up to 4,500 kilometers.

Sukhoi has at least 122 firm orders for Superjet 100 airliners at the moment. The first aircraft are expected to be delivered to Armenia's national airline Armavia and Russia's flagship air carrier Aeroflot at the end of the year.
