U.S. Navy working on Russian submersible rescue plan

MOSCOW, August 5 (RIA Novosti) - The U.S. Navy is working out a plan to rescue the stricken Russian submersible, the U.S. Embassy in Moscow said.
An Embassy spokesman confirmed that the Russian side had asked the U.S. Navy for help to rescue the vessel near the Kamchatka peninsula in the Russian Far East.
U.S. Pacific Fleet Commander Gary Roughead is maintaining contact with Chief of the Russian Pacific Fleet General Staff Vladimir Masorin, the spokesman said.
