ANTITERRORISM EXERCISE ON BORDER OF CHECHNYA AND DAGHESTAN

ROSTOV-ON-DON, April 14 (RIA Novosti, Sofya Brykanova) - A large-scale antiterrorism exercise, conducted in the Southern Federal district, moved to Daghestan's regions bordering on Chechnya.

Last night detachments participating in the exercise as well as the reserve forces of the interior department performed a 400-kilometer accelerated march to Kizlyar, Daghestan, Vasily Panchenkov, the head of the Russian Interior Department press service, told RIA Novosti.

On Thursday a special operation, envisaged by the plan of the exercise, will start in this region. According to the estimations of Nikolai Rogozhkin, the Commander-in-Chief of the Interior Troops of the Russian Interior Ministry, the commander of the exercise, the detachments are ready to fulfill any task in the course of the special operation.

"I can assure that the detachments, deployed in this particular region are in operational readiness, military hardware is technically ready as well and any task can be achieved in the course of the special operation," Rogozhkin stated.

Rogozhkin positively evaluated the first stage of the exercise, when a special tactic exercise with live firing and Air Force flights was held on the Kadamovsky shooting-range, Rostov region, the head of the press-service added.

"In the opinion of the Interior Troops Commander-in-Chief the tactical actions were adequate," the head of the press-service said.

The command and post exercise started in the Southern Federal district on April 11 and would last into Friday, April 15.
