RIA Novosti
MURMANSK, March 22 (RIA Novosti's Yekaterina Kozlova) - Very soon the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft-capable heavy cruiser will enter the combat training range of the Northern fleet in the Barents sea.
"It will be a scheduled entry for performing course missions and checking the warship's technical readiness", the headquarters of the Northern fleet told RIA Novosti. A precise date of entry will depend on the weather, it said.
The interviewee added that, when the warship is at sea, pilots of carrier-based aircraft will train in flying from the coastal airfield Severomorsk-3 and landing on the ship's deck.
In April the Admiral Kuznetsov will take part in command-and-staff exercise, due to be held by the Northern fleet under the command of Vladimir Kuroedov, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy.
Earlier, deputy commander of the Northern fleet Vice-Admiral Vladimir Dobroskochenko told RIA Novosti that in the summer of 2005 the warship will again sail on a long cruise in the world ocean.
