SUPPLIES OF RUSSIAN WEAPONS TO VENEZUELA DO NOT VIOLATE INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS
RIA Novosti
MOSCOW, February 11 (RIA Novosti) - The supplies of Russian weapons to Venezuela do not violate international standards and are a bilateral Russian-Venezuelan issue, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
"The sale of Kalashnikov assault rifles to Venezuela is an issue of Russian-Venezuelan bilateral relations. The supplies are performed within the framework of international standards and I have no comments on this issue," Mr. Lavrov said after the talks with his Kyrgyz counterpart Askar Aitmatov.
On Friday Washington expressed concern about the supplies of over 100,000 Russian assault rifles to Venezuela.
