TEHRAN (ISNA)- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said his country would play a constructive role in redesigning Iran's Arak Heavy Water Reactor.

"China has made the arrangements for its participation in redesigning Arak Heavy Water Reactor," he said in a press conference with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad-Javad Zarif in Beijing.

This is a joint project and the two sides should have coordination besides considering their own interests, he said.

Chinese foreign minister continued that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) (signed between Iran and P5+1 in July) is a good agreement for peace and stability in the Middle East and the world, adding all sides in nuclear talks must comply with their commitments.

"We want the nuclear agreement be implemented soon and the involved parties must live up to their commitments. The Chinese side will comply with its commitments as it did in the past and we will play our constructive role in redesigning Arak Heavy Water Reactor."

He noted that the international climate improved for Iran's presence following the JCPOA, adding, "We are happy with this issue as Iran's friend."

Iran and China trust each other politically and economically, he said, adding China was Iran's most reliable partner during sanction-era. "We believe that the agreement will influence the Middle East's geopolitics and countries' constructive interactions."
