Moscow advised to seriously follow up commissioning Bushehr plant
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, March 16, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mihman-Parast on Tuesday advised Moscow to seriously follow up commissioning Bushehr power plant on schedule.
He made the remarks in his last press briefing in the current Iranian year (to end March 20).
Bushehr power plant is not Iran’s last big project, he said, adding that the country is in need of 20 more power plants similar to that of Bushehr.
Iran may consider inking agreements with other countries capable of constructing large power plants upon schedule in the future, he said.
On future visit to Tehran of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, he said Brazil is a powerful and independent country and nothing can change the will of President da Silva for his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He expressed hope that the visit would pave the way for further expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
Denouncing Washington’s anti-Iran approach, the spokesman urged the US authorities to refrain from hatching plots against the Iranian nation.
He also called on the US judiciary officials to release Iranian nationals on the threshold of the Iranian New Year (March 21).
Asked about pressures of big powers upon China in order to make that country support anti-Iran resolution, he said Tehran believes that the independent policy of the powerful China will not be influenced by any country.
