Larijani not a candidate for 10th presidential elections

Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said here Monday that he is not a candidate for the 10th presidential elections slated for June 2009.
Larijani said at a press conference that however, the Majlis will definitely support anybody who will be the chief executive and think about national development and progress.
He said, "As much as possible, we will try to move in line with national unity within the framework of elections."
Asked whether Majlis had brought up the issue of referendum on economic reforms plan, Larijani said no such issue has been raised.
Turning to the US, he said, "Iranian nation seeks peace and stability in the region and wants the US to abandon its
double-standard approach on Afghan and Iraqi nations."
